WHY BIBLETS?
The Wandering Gift Giver is a redhead (me - Wendy) and a Christ-centered, personal ministry, not a non-profit organization. BIBLETS (thumbnail / condensed / abbreviated versions of The Bible) are for the purpose of Christian evangelism, encouragement and inspiration. BIBLETS ARE FREE!
Yes, actually reading The Bible can be a daunting prospect for many people. For a great majority, The Bible is that big, mysterious, dusty book on the shelf, better known as The Family Bible. It seems just too imposing a task to tackle!
It had been on my heart and mind for some time to come up with a way to make The Bible more ‘approachable.’ After quite some time of being nudged by the Holy Spirit, I finally did something about it! Back in 2009, while trying to think of a Christmas present for my Dad, for whose soul I had been praying for YEARS, I was moved to put together a ‘thumbnail’ version of The Bible. I knew it was unlikely Dad would open a Bible, so this way he could at least know more about what The Bible says in a short period of reading time and get a good amount of information about God’s love and purpose for mankind. Voila … Biblets! I really just restructured and condensed information, attained legal permission, and created these mini versions. The vision was there. The hardest part was getting started! Sound familiar?
I also wanted these thumbnail versions of The Bible to be FREE OF CHARGE. So I cover all the costs, as part of my giving back to God. God has blessed this little ministry by helping me (and my church family) distribute around 10,000! That’s so exciting!
As believers in Jesus Christ, we are commissioned to get the Word out. God is the one who works on peoples’ hearts!
